Father’s Day will be here before you know it so it’s time to start planning. If you are like me, you find it really hard to buy gifts for the men in your life. Maybe it’s because what they really want, they buy for themselves. Or perhaps their wants are WAY above the normal gift-giving price range, like a motorcycle or boat. But on a recent visit to my parents’ house, my dad who is the ultimate gadget guy, showed me some of his favorite “toys” that lots of dad’s may enjoy, especially those who like to work around the house and garden. What is it that moms really need on Mother's Day. In a nutshell, they need to feel loved and valued. But that looks different for everyone. The book, The Five Love Languages, speaks to this. In my case, I love acts of service. So on Mother's Day that means, I don't cook and get the day off. Cards and flowers in some form (usually something plantable) are a huge bonus. But others feel more loved with gifts. So this list really speaks more to those in that camp.
